Chuck Russell, horror legend, dies at 74
The horror community lost one of its greats this week. Chuck Russell, director of The Mask, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and the 1988 remake of The Blob, passed away at 74. He helped redefine practical-effects horror for an entire generation—and gave Freddy one of his best outings. Rest in nightmares.

This is one of those movies that gets creepier every time you revisit it. Oz Perkins lets the dread build slowly until you realize you've been holding your breath for the last twenty minutes. Moody, atmospheric, and endlessly rewatchable—it's comfort horror for people who like their chills to linger.
