We’re sure 2025 was higher. If you’d like to dodge the crowds this year, visit the real life Haunted Mansion we post about below—a place where you can get up close and personal with the ghosts. Of course, survival is optional.

Derry Isn’t Done With Us Yet
HBO has officially renewed IT: Welcome to Derry for Season 2, and this time the clock rolls back from 1962 to 1935, during the Great Depression. No premiere date yet — or official confirmation that Bill Skarsgård is back — but the creators’ planned three-season descent into Derry history is officially alive.
Because apparently one trip to Derry wasn’t enough to teach us anything. 🎈
$80,000. One Endless Road. Hollywood Is Paying Attention.
Writer-director Alexander Ullom made his feature debut It Ends for a reported $80,000 — and the existential road-trip horror is now earning serious attention. Even better for creators: Ullom has already lined up his next horror film, 4 X 4: The Event, with Sophia Lillis and Dylan Minnette among the cast.
The takeaway for horror filmmakers? You may not need $20 million. You may need one killer idea nobody can stop talking about.

David F. Sandberg Is Coming Home to Horror
Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg has signed on to direct Lionsgate's new psychological horror film Mommy's Home. After spending time in superhero territory with the Shazam! films, Sandberg is heading back toward the genre that first made Hollywood notice him.

Blood Shine — (Aug 21st) Emily Bennett, Brendan Sexton III and horror stalwart Larry Fessenden star in this horror-thriller arriving in limited release.

Colony — (Aug 28th) From Yeon Sang-ho, director of Train to Busan, comes a new Korean zombie nightmare. A rapidly mutating virus erupts during a biotech conference, the facility gets sealed, and everyone trapped inside discovers the infected aren't done evolving… Corporate conferences were already terrifying. Now they're contagious.
