Good morning,

Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day.  And while you’ll be able to stream any number of Leprechaun movies (Can you believe there are eight?)  The scariest Irish movie when I was a kid was Darby O’Gill and the Little People. When the banshee summons the death coach I nearly crapped my pants. And it was “supposedly” for children.  No wonder I do horror.

🩸SHOULD WE BE SCARED?

There’s a new social media platform on the scene. If that wasn’t scary enough, this one is only for AI.  That’s right, you have to be an AI agent to join, and apparently, they are.  Over 1.6 million AI agents have already joined without any help from humans. Didn’t Arthur C. Clark warn us about this?

🩸RECENT HORROR NEWS

  • Christopher Landon returns to horror
Christopher Landon — the filmmaker behind Happy Death Day — is heading back into the genre with a new supernatural project called Final Boarding, currently in development at Screen Gems. The film reportedly centers on a mysterious flight, which already sounds like the worst airline experience since they started charging for carry-ons. Horror fans are speculating it could lean into a Final Destination-style setup — which means if someone on that plane says, “Relax, what could possibly go wrong?” we suggest deplaning immediately.

  • A new horror family project premieres at SXSW
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick premiered their horror-comedy Family Movie at the South by Southwest this week. The film — which also stars their kids — follows a family that makes low-budget horror movies together… until a real body shows up on set. So yes, it’s a wholesome family project where bonding involves fake blood, camera rigs, and eventually a possible homicide investigation. Dinner conversation must be fantastic.

  • Production begins on a new entry in a brutal franchise
Filming has begun on Wolf Creek: Legacy, the next chapter in the savage Australian franchise launched by Greg McLean. Expect more outback terror and fewer tourists making good life choices.

How One Wellness Brand Is Helping America Sleep Better

You know the importance of sleep, but actually getting enough is easier said than done. One wellness brand decided to study the problem and whether CBD could help.

CBD users have long reported feeling calmer and sleeping better, whether taking the compound by itself or with related hemp-derived compounds like CBN and THC. But rumor isn’t research, so CBDistillery conducted two sleep studies: a 2021 study into CBD and CBN, and a 2023 study with technology app Releaf into CBD, CBN and THC.

Study participants who took CBD and CBN reported falling asleep easier and sleeping an hour longer per night, on average. Study participants who took THC as well as CBD and CBN reported improved quality of sleep and waking up more refreshed the next morning.

Want to experience better sleep and still wake up refreshed? Try CBDistillery’s sleep solutions for yourself and save 25% with code SLP25.
